DESCRIPTION OF PREMISES

Built in 1927, the Carlsbad Village Theatre has served the North San Diego County community as a venue for a wide variety of events.  The historical uses have ranged from the original black/white silent movies and vaudeville productions to the contemporary live stage performances (concerts - dance - comedy - plays), large screen presentations, business seminars, group meetings, religious gatherings, informercials and community events.

The Theatre is centrally located in the popular Carlsbad Village area, directly across the street form the "Coaster" Train Station.  Several excellent restaurants, pubs, antique stores, coffee houses and specialty shops are within walking distance.  There are 60 well lighted parking spaces along State Street and 340 off street "public parking spaces" at the Coaster Train Station.  The Coaster Train Station parking spaces serve the business day commuters from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The parking spaces at the Coaster Train Station lot are generally available after 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

The Theatre auditorium has 294 comfortable fixed theatre style seats plus 36 moveable chair seats (330 total seats) that slope upward from the first row.  There is a Raised Stage Performance Area (20 ft. x 12 ft.) in front of the first row.  The raised stage height is 20 inches.  The fixed background for the Raised Stage performances is the attractive floor to ceiling cinema screen title curtain.  The backstage dressing room area, storage area and restroom is a spacious 984 sf.  Photos and floor plans of the theatre and its amenities are attached herein.

The large cinema screen is a fixed Stewart Film screen "Ultramatte 150" Torus/Sigma design (39.5 ft. wide x 16.5 ft. high) with an attractive floor to ceiling title curtain.  This fixed cinema screen, or portions of it, can be used for a variety of cinema and video presentations.  It can also be used concurrently with live stage plays and concerts.

The lobby area includes a ticket booth and a small concession area.  The open lobby area can accommodate modest exhibits, greeting tables, or event merchandising.  The theatre marquee is triangular shaped and extends out over the public sidewalk on State Street.  The two marquee message sides are 100 sf. each (12.5 ft. x 8 ft.).  Event poster display areas are also available in the exterior lobby area along the sidewalk frontage.
